Take a few weeks and try something new.
Begin by staying away from any fritters, flours, sugar, cheese, or animal meats for a few days. Substitute them for plenty of fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes. If you are not sure what these are check A Sampling of Whole Foods. Check out recipes on this website.
Within a week of replacing many of your foods with whole plants you may notice body sensations like: growling in your stomach, headache, body aches, fatigue, as if you were sick or hungry. Remember that if you are eating a variety of healthful foods, your symptoms cannot be hunger. They instead demonstrate dependence to the foods you left behind. Do not go back to them yet.
Eat plenty of good foods, drink a lot of water. Take long walks. Get good sleep. Help the transition. The unpleasant symptoms will subside.
Keep to your new path for another week. Eat plenty of colorful foods. Stay away from fritters, bakery items, sugar, cheeses, and animal meats. Do not restrict good foods like fruits, vegetables, grains, and beans. Try some simple recipes like oatmeal, bean stew, rice, garlic kale, baked pumpkin.
If you have made it this far, try staying on the path for another week. Keep it simple, but try a few new items from the whole foods department. Register new tastes. Keep a journal. Guide yourself by the taste and color of foods. The next choice will be grounded in your own experience.
Notice how you are shaping a new life style. And it feels good! Try another three weeks...
